As mentioned in previous posts, the Christian experience is
of a cyclical nature. We experience things and situations that are less than
ideal from our own perspective. Contrary to popular belief, the plan is perfect
even when we are uncomfortable in our present circumstances. When we are removed
from life’s mountainous peaks and placed into its forsaken valleys, it is human
nature to inquire about our reasons for being placed there. “What did I do wrong Lord? Have I not been a
good servant unto you?” If any of you are anything like me, you have definitely
asked such questions. Today I challenge each of you to take on an alternative
perspective. Ezekiel 37: 1-14 tells of Ezekiel’s vision of a valley filled with
death. In this vision, GOD placed Ezekiel in a valley amongst dry bones and no
life. In the vision GOD commanded Ezekiel to speak a “prophetic message” to the
skeletal remains, that they may be filled with life once more. Ezekiel did as
the Lord had commanded and spoke GOD’s words to the dead and the bones rattled
and was covered with flesh and skin. Still not alive, Ezekiel was then
commanded to speak a “prophetic message” to the winds. Obeying GOD’s command,
he spoke to the winds and the breath of life entered into the dead who then
came alive to form a mighty army!
Brothers and sisters, when we are placed into forsaken valleys, it may
not be due to one’s own iniquity; In fact your purpose in the valley may be
quite the contrary. That is, you may have been placed into the valley because
you are pleasing in the eyes of GOD. He chose you, his good servant, to speak
his word base of your body of work. The dead in Christ is worth saving! Do not
allow the spirits of cynicism and doubt to discourage you from your purpose in the
valley. Speak a prophetic message to your fellow brethren who has succumb to
the world and its low places, that he or she may have renewed life in our Lord
and Savior. Remember that our Heavenly father demonstrated this love for man
when he sent his only begotten son into the valley of the sinful dead, that we may
all be restored and granted eternal life…
Today's Prayer:
“Heavenly father, there are times when we cannot see your ultimate plan. Strengthen my faith that I may be of purposeful use to you. I am a willing vessel for you and I fully submit myself to all that you would have me do. Allow my words to be a reflection of your love to all and enhance my ability to be a fisher of man. In Jesus name, Amen…” (Today’s word was from Ezekiel 37: 1-14)
I hope this has been a blessing to someone today. May GOD bless you all!
