It is often hard for workers to
see the vision of the architect when there is only a vacant lot of nothingness to
reveal in the beginning. As the commotion begins and the materials arrive, one
can only guess on what is to be built and how grand it will be; After all,
there is only dirt and supplies at the site. When the project manager arrives
and is added to the equation, he provides for the foreman and his workers a
blueprint of the construction. They first create a solid foundation for the
structure. Secondly, they frame the structure to give it shape. Third, they
wire, insulate, and install walls for sustainability. Fourth, they apply
exterior strength to the structure, brick by brick. Lastly, they beautify the
structure with landscaping, flooring, countertops, lighting fixtures,
appliances, and fine finishes. The workers can now marvel at the mansion they
have built, and see the vision of the architect by following the blueprint that
was supplied to them by the project manager.
Brothers and sisters, when we decide to live
our lives for Christ, we do not have the luxury of foresight, or the ability to
see the vision of the “Master Architect.” That is perfectly okay because he
sent “The Project Manager”, Jesus Christ, with the blueprint to salvation! We
may have difficulty comprehending the intricacies of the blueprint;
however, when the blueprint is coordinated in a systematic manner, one that
allows for the conducting of small tasks that eventually evolves into a larger
task, the blueprint becomes less complex. Throughout the duration of the
construction, you may be subjected to gossip and judgement on the jobsite,
scrutinized by fellow colleagues. I say to you, keep working and add another
brick. You will have less productive days than others, and may have a few shortcomings
that result in missed days on the job. Don’t worry about that, because GOD had
the foresight to incorporate a contingency plan for such days. Return to the
worksite and lay another brick! No worker is perfect, but it does not mean that
his work is not… You may be called a sinner, a backslider, and etc. Again, lay
the brick until you are afforded an opportunity to marvel at the mansion GOD
envisioned for you.
My prayer for you today:
“Heavenly father we are not
perfect, but we have a desire to be among your flock. When we fall short of your
grace and mercy, we thank you for being the Good
Shepard that searches us out, graciously guiding us back into the fold.
Though we are judged by our fellow man, we thank you for the strength that you have
given to us that we may lay another brick in revelation of the mansion for which you have
prepared for us. In Jesus name, Amen…”
I hope this has been a blessing
to someone this morning….
